Buffalo’s growing season may be short, but there are plenty of great farmers markets you can visit during the summer.
From strawberries to leafy greens, flower bouquets and gourmet pastries, the farmers markets around Buffalo and Niagara Falls offer the best of local farms’ bounties. Most of them are growers-only markets, requiring that all produce and products that are sold are grown or made in New York state.

Farmers Markets in Buffalo & Niagara Falls
Downtown / Elmwood
Downtown Country Market (Main St. between Church & Court) – The Downtown Country Market is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2:30pm from July 30-October 24. The market offers a wide variety of fruits and veggies, as well as delicious snack and lunch options for downtown workers, including The Sweet Whisk bakery and KO’s Kettle Corn.
Elmwood/Bidwell Market (Bidwell Park between Bidwell and Elmwood Ave.) – This iconic Elmwood Village farmers market is open every Saturday from mid-May through the end of November from 8am-1pm. With popular farm vendors such as Erdle Farm, Native Offerings and Plato Dale Farm, as well as some of Buffalo’s best food (including Breadhive Bakery & Cafe, Butter Block, Public Espresso and Barrel and Brine), this market is a can’t-miss opportunity for great eats and people watching on Saturday mornings.
North Buffalo / Kenmore / North Tonawanda
North Buffalo Farmers Market (North Park Community School) – Open every Thursday from 4-7pm through August 29. After August, the market moves to Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm. Vendors include Petrichor Flora, Librock Beef and Carla’s Crumby Creations. It’s just a couple minutes from our Delaware Park Apartments and Main Jewett Apartments, so you can easily pop down there on Thursdays to pick up ingredients for dinner and a quick snack.
Kenmore Farmers Market (Kenmore Municipal Village Green, Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road) – Kenmore’s lively farmers market is open Sundays from 9am-1pm from June 16-October 13. Food vendors include Ashker’s Juice Bar, Big Norwegian Kombucha and The Bean Bastard. They also offer yoga on the green every Sunday from 9-10am. It’s just a quick 5 minute walk from our KenDev Studios and less than a 5 minute drive from our Sheridan Manor Apartments and Fowler Apartments, so it’s easy to pop down Sunday morning for breakfast.
North Tonawanda Farmers Market (270 Robinson St.) – From eggs to plants, pastries and produce, the North Tonawanda Farmers Market has something for everyone. This expansive market is open year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7am-1pm. Luckily for residents of our Gateway Park Apartments and Witmer Road Apartments, it’s less than a 5 minute drive away, so they have easy access to fresh, local produce no matter what time of year.
Williamsville / Clarence
Williamsville Farmers Market (Amherst Town Hall Lot) – The Williamsville Farmers Market is open 8am-1pm every Saturday from May 11-October 26. In addition to several farm stands, you can pick up Duke’s Donuts, Kornerstone Coffee, and Quaker Bonnet Bakery for a sweet Saturday morning treat. Less than 15 minutes from our North Buffalo and Kenmore Apartments, it’s definitely worth a visit this summer.
Clarence Hollow Farmers Market (101717 Main Street, Clarence) – The Clarence Hollow Farmers Market is open Saturdays from June through October. This market has been operating for more than 15 years and is New York state’s only “Rails-to-Trails” Farmers Market. Featuring weekly entertainment and wine tastings, it’s a great place to do some shopping and hang out on a warm summer or fall day. Specialty vendors include 716 Street Eats, My Father’s Fudge and Sitka Salmon Shares.
Niagara Falls, NY / Niagara Falls, CN
Niagara Falls City Market (NY – Market Square – 18th Street & Pine Avenue) – The Niagara Falls City Market is a vibrant farmers market with plenty of vendors open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-3pm. It’s just a 10 minute drive from all of our Niagara Falls apartments, making it a convenient stop when you need to pick up veggies for dinner during the week.
Niagara Falls Farmers Market (Canada – 5943 Sylvia Place, behind the Niagara Falls History Museum) – Operating for over 50 years, the Niagara Falls, CA Farmers Market is open year-round on Saturdays from 7am-1pm. Just a 20 minute drive from our Niagara I and Niagara II Apartments and Lasalle West Apartments, the market is worth crossing the border for. While you can’t bring any produce you purchase back across the border, it’s a nice way to spend a Saturday morning and grab a pastry and coffee before going to see Niagara Falls.
