If you’ve been on Instagram over the past month, you’ve probably seen a photo or two of your local friends frolicking around a large field of vibrant sunflowers.
The sunflower field that’s become a local star of social media is located in Sanborn, NY, a tiny town about seven miles west of Lockport and about 22 miles from Buffalo.
Sanborn Farm a Social Star
Danielewicz Farm is located at the corner of Route 31 and Baer Road in Sanborn and features acres of sunflowers in full bloom — which many locals have discovered is the perfect background for a selfie.
The field includes approximately 150,000 sunflowers, which were planted by Chad and Louise Brachmann to brighten up an otherwise bare lot. Now, the farmers invite people to come tour the field and take photos at no cost.
Mid-September is late in the season, but there are still many gorgeous full sunflowers to take in. Bring the family or a date for an outdoorsy adventure, or just enjoy a solo retreat and bask in all of nature’s beauty.
Our Sanborn Apartments
While Sanborn may be a hidden gem for some, it’s far from new to us at Kenmore Development. In fact, we have an apartment community located right in town.
Our Sanborn Meadow Apartments are located at 3077 Shenk Rd., just a two-minute drive from the spectacular sunflower field and walking distance to Niagara County Community College (NCCC).
Sanborn Meadow residents have the luxury of being close to what will continue to be a popular tourist attraction, as the Danielewicz family says they have even bigger and better plans for the sunflower field next year.
