For Buffalo foodies, it’s the best time of the year: Local Restaurant Week.
Running April 1 through 7, Local Restaurant Week allows restaurants across Western New York to show off their delicious specialties. It’s a great opportunity to try a new place and sample unique dishes at some of the best restaurants in the area.
This year, more than 200 local restaurants are offering lunch and dinner deals starting at $20.19. To make it easier for residents and community members to figure out where to eat this year, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite participating restaurants near our apartment communities that are offering a significant bang for your buck.
Check out some of these tasty local spots and let us know in the comments where you’ll be chowing down this Local Restaurant Week.
Restaurant Week in Buffalo & Niagara Falls
Elmwood Village/Allen
Allen Burger Venture – Despite being open for a few years now, Allen Burger Venture is one of the most popular restaurants in the city, and for good reason. And if you haven’t already, this week is the time to visit: now through April 7, the gastropub is offering diners any one of its mouthwatering craft burgers and a draft beer for just $20.19. Burgers alone generally start at $16 and go up from there, so it’s definitely a deal you’ll want to take advantage of. With plenty of burger varieties to choose from, from grass-fed organic beef to tuna, chorizo, salmon and wild boar, you’ll definitely find something to suit your tastes. Don’t forget to grab an order of their famous tater tots or truffle fries on the side. ABV is just a 10-minute drive from our Main Jewett Apartments and Delaware Park Apartments, so go treat yourself to a burger and drink after work — you deserve it.
North Buffalo/Kenmore
CraVing – Known for its handcrafted pastas and flavorful small plates, CraVing offers local gourmands farm-to-table dishes at affordable prices. This year, diners can sample one of their flavorful salads (we love the Caesar, which features a full romaine wedge and house-made focaccia stick) as well as one of five entrees for just $20.19. Eligible entrees include their homemade ricotta gnocchi and braised short rib, which we also highly recommend. A salad and entree can normally run you at least $30, so the deal is a good way to sample these items at a lower price. Located on Hertel Ave., CraVing is just a 5-minute drive from our Main Jewett Apartments, Delaware Park Apartments and Tudor Gardens Townhouses, making it easy to pop over for a delicious dinner.
North Tonawanda
Canal Club 62 – Located on Webster St. in North Tonawanda, this trendy restaurant has been serving up craft cocktails and fancy pub eats since it opened in 2016. For $20.19, guests get their choice of a draft beer, house wine or well drink, as well as a soup, salad and “lite bite,” or small plate. For those with heartier appetites, $30.19 will replace the small plate with your choice of one of the restaurant’s signature entrees, which include sweet potato crusted salmon, mussels linguini and BBQ grilled ribs. The best part? Canal Club 62 is just a 3-minute walk from our Gateway Park Apartments, so if you want to indulge, you don’t have to worry about getting home. The restaurant is also just a 5-minute ride from our Witmer Road Apartments and Riverview Manor Apartments and 10 minutes from our Sheridan Residence.
The Dockside Bar & Grill – Now that the weather is finally warming up and we’ve got an extra hour of sunlight in the evenings, eating dinner by the water is becoming more enticing. If you’re looking for a gorgeous view with your meal, check out the Dockside Bar & Grill in North Tonawanda. For $20.19, diners get a choice of a house salad or soup plus an entree, with premium entrees available for $30.19. But the best deal comes this Friday, when the restaurant offers two fish fry meals for $20.19. Why cook for yourself when the restaurant is just a 2-minute walk down the road from our Gateway Park Apartments? It’s also just a 6-minute drive from our Witmer Road Apartments and Riverview Manor Apartments and 8 minutes from our Sheridan Residence, so there’s no reason not to visit and take in the pretty early spring sunsets.

Niagara Falls & Sanborn
Fortuna’s Restaurant – This family-owned Italian eatery in Niagara Falls, NY is known for its generous portions, and hungry diners won’t be disappointed during Local Restaurant Week. Guests will have a choice of an appetizer and entree for $20.19, with options to upgrade to a three-course dinner for $30.19 or $40.19, depending on entree choice (which includes surf and turf for the most expensive option). Just a 10-minute drive from our Niagara Apartments, Niagara II Apartments and LaSalle West Apartments, Fortuna’s is an easy stop for a hearty meal that won’t break the bank.
Red Coach Inn – Modeled off of a cozy British pub, the Red Coach Inn offers home-cooked meals in an intimate setting — as well as an amazing view of Niagara Falls while you dine. This year, the restaurant is offering three-course meals for $30.19, including an appetizer, entree and dessert. Entrees include savory meatloaf and a stuffed portobello mushroom, but we’ll be saving room for dessert, which features a s’mores bread pudding. Typically, these three courses would cost over $30, so it’s a good opportunity to visit — or even spend the night at the inn if you want to really treat yourself. The restaurant is only 10 minutes from our LaSalle West Apartments and less than 15 minutes from our Niagara Apartments and Niagara II Apartments, so stop in this week for dinner with a breathtaking view.
